Dido原名Florian Cloud De Bounevialle Armstrong，1971年12月25日出生于英国伦敦。

Dido是一名非常有音乐天才的女歌手，在她6岁的时候就进入了伦敦的音乐学校Guildhall School of Music学习，在这里她开始学习弹钢琴和拉小提琴，并且从小Dido就和她的哥哥Rollo一起参与录制音乐唱片的工作。十几岁的时候，Dido一直频繁的在各种不同的古典乐团做歌手，但是一直没有太出色的表现，后来她又开始在伦敦地区的一些不知名的乐队做歌手，直到1995年，她的音乐之路才真正走上了正规。

Dido那高亢嘹亮的歌喉足以与Sinead O’Connor 媲美，但她又不同于Sinead O’Connor.因为Dido的嗓音还具有麻痹、沙哑、慵懒的一面。
